Male Choir LIRA Camp in Bulgaria and Hungary (2006) |
In the second half of August 2006 the youth male choir LIRA went on tour to Bulgaria and Hungary. First part of the tour the choir spent in Kranevo – a summer resort on Bulgarian coast near Varna. During 10 days the choir had rehearsals and a lot of free time to enjoy the stay on the coast. On Sunday 20th August the choir gave concert of orthodox church music in Varna Metropolitan Orthodox Church during the service. This place is the most important church in Varna which is second biggest city in Bulgaria. After the concert we went to visit the Memorial of Varna Battle from year 1444 which took between Polish Knights and allies against Turkish forces. The choir sang polish knights’ song inside the tomb of Polish King Wladyslaw Warnenczyk who was killed in the battle.. After 10 days in Bulgaria we went to Hungary. We stayed for 2 nights in Budapest. We lived in the center of Peszt. We visited this beautiful city and on 25th August we gave the joint concert with local choir Budapesti Ifjúsági Kórus in Szervita templom – beautiful baroque church. On the way to Poland we stopped in Eger to try famous wines from the valley of beautiful woman.. |
